EDUCATION AND PRACTICE
Susan is certified in Integral Coaching through New Ventures West. She has earned her Doctorate in Occupational Science (Sc.D.), Master's in Education (M.S.Ed.), and Bachelor's (B.S.) in Occupational Therapy. Her work in occupational therapy has been entirely with adults with emotional and/or physical disabilities. Much of her clinical career has been spent working with individuals with severe mental illness and their caregivers. However, she also has extensive experience treating neurological injuries (stroke, brain injury), and geriatric populations who live with illness or disability.
In her practice as an integral coach, she helps individuals with a wide range of life challenges including troubled relationships (including separation and divorce), difficulty achieving weight loss or wellness goals, struggles with parenting (children with and without disability), career transitions, and hardships of caring for relatives with illness or disability (including terminal illness). In addition, Susan also works with women who feel they have lost themselves in the chaos of life.
Susan is married and has 3 children, one of whom lives with a disability. It is perhaps this role, more than her formal education, that continues to teach her the most in her life. This experience has also grown her passion for helping others who are navigating the unique challenges of parenting a child with a disability.
Dr. Susan Krutis is the owner of Falling Up, LLC, practicing as a Certified Integral Coach and Licensed Occupational Therapist. She has worked for 20 years as an occupational therapist with adults whose lives have been impacted by illness and disability. Throughout the course of her career, she has discovered that people have many needs which may not be completely addressed under a medical model of care. This led her to the field of coaching.
Integral coaching invites individuals to new possibilities in their lives in ways that honor the essence of who they are. Susan's education in both fields is a beautiful culmination of understanding what matters to us as human beings, and how we can take noticeable steps into more joy-filled lives.
