WHAT IS INTEGRAL COACHING?
Get unstuck from where you are, and awaken to new possibilities in your life
Integral coaching is a method of life coaching that pays attention to the whole life of a person including one's internal world, relationships, actions and behaviors, and environment. Through in-depth assessment, design of your coaching program, and follow-up sessions, Susan considers the many layers of your life. This is necessary in order to facilitate your awareness, and to guide you toward the change that you desire.
The way Susan works with you toward self-discovery is not through advice, but by using practices and strategies that allow you to embody real change. Advice, much like reading self-help books or attending a workshop, can be worthwhile at times. But unless the knowledge is integrated within the context of your life, it will not be long lasting. The goals of integral coaching are that you will be able to self-generate, self-correct, and demonstrate long-term excellence in your life. In other words, a major outcome is that you will no longer need coaching support. Instead of just "getting by," you will be living your life with a fresh aliveness you didn't think was possible.
Integral coaching is not "psychotherapy" or clinical therapy such as counseling or social work. If you suspect you have a medically-based emotional condition for which you have not been evaluated, Susan recommends that you seek help from a psychologist, counselor, psychiatrist, or other physician. If you are not sure, she can help you determine whether coaching is right for you at this time.
Although coaching is not defined as therapy, coaching may be described by many as therapeutic. It is a space where you are not judged, and where the coach is present for you right where you are. Finding the right coach for you is paramount, because relationship matters greatly during this collaborative process.
